Could you provide everyone with more information as to what you are looking for in a company.

Could you please let us know what are your requirements such as disk space and bandwidth. Also what is your budget you are aiming for? You can search for reviews here at WebHostingTalk

50 GB space & 500 GB BW is Ok. I do have a dedicated server but I want this account for emergencies and for testing sites. So I want a good customer server and tech support...Nice people and responsive.

And what sort of budget are you willing to spend for this? I think searching the offer section here would provide you with some help. If you shortlist few you can go through their reviews here and also contact them directly to see what's their response times and how they are handling your queries. I think by that you'll have a general idea about them.

I am thinking around $300 a year

Your budget seems reasonable that I don't think you'll have any problem finding one. And do you have any specific location in mind?

With a VPS like this, you could have a VPS + cPanel included or a high quality reseller offer. If you specify any location, we can help you to find the best offers.

Yes. Do you got any location you prefer for the account to be hosted?

Hello, Do mean by location east, west, etc? or Dallas, NYC, etc. Anyhow, I don't mind any location. One more thing! Is it possible to have a reseller that allow restoring account without opening a ticket. TIA

FYI - none of the 'ranking' sites are legit. Their only purpose is to gain affiliate signups to make money.

Almost none" I can agree with. There's nothing that dictates an affiliate reviews site has to be deceiving, and some not obviously biased. Of course, revenue is maximized when they alter the truth, and most cave in to temptation. Kinda' like in politics. Last edited by ldcdc; 11-04-2010 at 09:04 AM.

I have never trusted any ranking websites myself. Although I do trust in the reviews and experiences posted here on webhostingtalk because you get to know the pros and cons of any xyz hosting company. Not necessary every company should always have positive reviews. Negative reviews are bound to develop when a company is doing years of business. But if you study the overall experiences shared by people for a certain company, you should get a fair idea about their services and support - and that is what will help anyone to choose a webhost.

Just a precision : 300$ is a monthly or annually budget ?

Annually, with $300/mo I can get an excellent Dedicated Server

Ranking websites are mainly ranking the hosts who pay them the most. WHT is good to see what others say and will give the opportunity to see what responses the incumbent host says. Google is pretty good to see how established they are.
