High Bandwidth Cloud Hosting

Posted by TomorrowHosting, 07-06-2011, 03:53 AM
Right now I'm using Rackspace for Windows Cloud Hosting and the bandwidth costs are starting to get very high (I spend 4x more on bandwidth than I do on actual servers). I've been looking around and it seems like Rackspace has higher bandwidth costs than other cloud hosting providers. Does anybody have any recommendations for a Windows cloud hosting provider (which allows for server images, also not for a web server) which has a relatively cheap cost for outbound bandwidth? EC2 has lowered its bandwidth pricing tiers. It starts at 0.12 now. VoxCloud bandwidth is even nicer, but unfortunately, I don't see any custom imaging support - although cloning is available.

Try cloudorado.com to compare cloud providers. You can just set how much traffic you need to see how much it is going to cost in any of them.

Almost 85% of Cloud providers cost high for bandwidth, equation is simple, they might have invested heavy in Cloud and it would have cost them higher when comparing to the normal setup.

I've done a comparison regarding bandwidth by cloud providers in the past and from what I remember Virtacore was the cheapest followed by EC2, Rackspace and Terremark were about the same and I think GoGrid was most expensive if you use their pay as you go model. Hope this helps.

GoGrid have transfer packages, so it might get cheaper if you fit in.
