Need some help with DNS entrys for a htacces subdomain

Okay, I am trying to make subdomains for my site... ie adam.xaois.com george.xaois.com but the subdom needs to be a wild card. I added a DNS entry so that: *.xaois.com => xaois.com. I also tried *.xaois.com => ip but it points to the root page of the server. I need it to point to xaois.com homepage so I can control the subdomain from there. Can anyone help? Cheers

You need to tell apache which virtualhost wants to accept that wildcard domain. You could put a ServerAlias xaois.com *.xaois.com inside the VirtualHost directive. ie.
