setup SMTP server on WIN2003 Apache?

Hi!
I don't have any SMTP server
Its a dedicated unmanaged server that has windows 2003 and apache running. I heard you need IIS to enable SMTP on a Windows machine but I don't want to run IIS because I feel Apache is better.

hMailServer is open source, has most features you will need and allows external modules for virus/spam scanning. We don't use it on hosting or other high-volume servers, but it works fine for our internal email.
