Server processes takin up so much cpu... what are they?

My server has been crashing quite alot lately, it does have some high traffic sites on there but it has never really been this bad before. Today i noticed these in cpanel, what are they and is there anyway I can control them? :/ Screenshot: http://i31.tinypic.com/i5du2d.png any help appreciated.

Login as root and killall netstat. What is sadc on your server?

sadc - System activity data collector The sadc command samples system data a specified number of times ( count ) at a specified interval measured in seconds ( interval ).

sadc is system activity data collector. Can you paste your top and ps -aux output ?

I dont see anything here... run command: top -ci and paste the output.

It looks normal for me. try to reboot apache. Where do you have your server hosted? It is self-managed?

Its unmanaged. I think its gone back to normal now, because those stats in my 1st post are from this morning. If i check in the live stats, it seems fine: http://my-image-hosting.com/show.php/16947_22.JPG.html Last edited by davidj2; 04-13-2008 at 05:26 PM.

You can check your crons to see if something is set to run in the morning.
