Windows Licensing - VPS

| Does anyone know how does Windows handle licensing on Virtual Dedicated Servers? Does SPLA licensing cost the same as a full dedicated server?
This would be a VMware server, with multiple Windows virtual servers.

| You'll need a license for every virtual host, however, you don't need to license 'dormant' hosts if they're used for fail-over purposes.

| Hi there,
I would definitely recommend that you license a Datacenter Edition from Microsoft because it's licensed based on the number of physical processors, not virtual processors or virtual servers.
