hello every1, I discovered this forum googling and i think is a very good community, so i registered and well... as any noob, started to ask questions U.U im new in this stuff of web hosting... though i know some things... i dont have experience, its my first job in a small web hosting company, and we have a strange problem, we loss entries on /etc/localdomains when we migrate domains from one server to another and nobody knows why... we can fix it trough deleting the dns entry and creating it again on the target server. I know its kinda messy (for me at least) i hope u can give me at least an insight of where the problem might be. We do the migration trough the migration tool of WHM Here is some data about the target migration server, if u need something else... please tell me. CENTOS Enterprise 5 i686 on standard - WHM X v3.1.0 uname -r vmstat 5 5 TOP lspci Thank u for ur time.

CP 11 comes with a nasty (and annoying) feature, setting up /etc/localdomains and /etc/remotedomains . This will be very annoying to some, and I found it to be very frustrating. Most likely THIS is what's causing your problem. To resolve: In WHM->setup, find and UN tick that Save settings Now, what causes this? This is caused because cpanel attempts to verify that mail for that domain should be accepted on that server, and if so, adds it to localdomains. If NOT, it adds it to remotedomains. Why would this be different? Well, say you had 2 MX entries, low and high, one for your server (low), and a backup for another server. Cpanel would automatically assume (incorrectly) that mail for that domain shouldn't be processed and add that to remotedomains.

Yeah, what linux-tech said is most likely the problem and I'd also have to agree that it's a total PITA at times! If you find that your localdomains are still screwed up, instead of manually fixing everything just try the following script to force a rebuild of the file: /scripts/updateuserdomains
