Web Proxy Question

Posted by urzevel, 05-22-2008, 10:53 PM
Hello, I have a quick question, I installed a web proxy on my site urzevel.com Now, if I surf through urzevel.com how do I know OR how can I check that the IT team at work dont know which sites I check out ?

I don't exactly understand the question you ask. But it seems you do not want your IT Team at your office knows that you access urzevel.com, right? I think you should create password protected page for your webproxy page. So if your IT Team want to check it they have to enter a password, so they will think the site you access (urzevel.com) is safe.

If they have only access to logs of your activity they will see every time that your request goes to 208.229.144.192. 208.229.144.192 is IP address of your web proxy site. They will not see anything else because you surf then behind your proxy server. YOU --> 208.229.144.192 (proxy) --> Destination

Not necessarily, if the traffic is not encrypted they will be able to capture all of the data.

True but they will still not know which sites he have checked out. That was a question.

awesome you answered my question. I don't mind if they know that I go to urzevel.com I just don't want them to know what web sites I surf on the proxy. I have one more question. does anyone know where I can get scripts like, iptools.com has?

If they check the logs then they can see what sites you have been to.
