If I want to move everything to a new hard disk, directadmin will work just to copy/overwrite destination from the backup? Thanks

If you are saying about accounts backing up / restoring, you can just use that feature in DA. Backup your accounts, save them in safe place, then restore in new disk. Otherwise, can you explain more what you want to do?

The problem is that option doesn't work because tar can't handle that many files to compress. I will just have a new hard disk with os & directadmin installed and the old HD with os,directadmin & all my data.

I would say get a new server setup DirectAdmin and than simply move your site into that new Server with DA, you cant copy the directadmin files, even if you can it just wouldnt work on the new server. Its like this if you install a program on one computer and than copy the icon that launches it from desktop to another PC it simply wont work. If you need help moving something I can probally help just send a PM.
