Reseller like splashhost/mchost (with 24/7 support & at affordablecolo?)

Posted by SarahBurton, 01-21-2002, 09:23 AM
I'm looking for a reseller account like that given by splashhost and MChost , must have unlimited domains, 24/7 support and own nameservers and, preferably, using affordablecolo for their servers as they get very good comments. Mchost looks great but they seem to have some problems keeping on top of support due to their success. Spashhost don't have 24/7 support. Does such another host exist? Thanks you very much for any help. Sarah

I don't think mchost use affordablecolo. Any simlar hosts who fit the bill? Sarah

hi Sarah, I believe I'm right in saying that MCHost use NAC and Burstnet for their server hosting and have recently added a DS3 line to the Burstnet servers so they're not running through the datacenter switch anymore.. In terms of support, there have been some issues recently thanks in part to their success in signing up new customers and also thanks to problems at both datacenters, resource hogging scripts and smaller issues all piling into one mess. Couple that with Christmas and New Year breaks and you have an unholy nightmare. That said, they have taken positive action to correct a large number of the problems and from what I've seen on the forums; helpdesk tickets and support issues are now being answered at close to normal times, so your data on that side of things is probably out of date. Anyway, thought I'd address those issues for you. Not sure why you particularly want to go with affordablecolo but either way, you could always ask MCHost for a trial period and see what you think. Good luck with your search.

I just recently signed up with Voxtreme. They offer a fairly nice reseller package however they don't provide unlimited domains. Their support has been more than fantastic even through a recent change in their provider. If you still haven't located anyone take a look at these guys: http://www.voxtreme.com Don't be fooled by their basic website. C

Yes I agree. Voxtreme has a great support so far. I have been thinking to switch to Voxtreme soon.

WebSnail: Thanks for your comments. I'll look again. Nat & spade: These people do not offer unlimited domains. Also the site does not have any company infomration or even contact details - only email addresses. No-one in the proper mind would host with someone like that. They do not have track record - domain only registered 7 weeks ago. Too risky for me. Maybe you are on commision? Sarah.

Sarah, They are not on commission We are a newer company to the hosting industry, however that doesn't detract on our ability to provide good services. The team behind Voxtreme.com has a wealth of experience gathered from years in the hosting industry [edit: and founded Voxtreme after gaining this knowledge], so we are ready to support your needs. Regarding contact information; we prefer email as it allows us to respond quickly and efficiently. There are people to respond / work on your problem 24/7. Regarding company information, if you require information, please feel free to contact me at matt@voxtreme.com - I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Thanks for the comments about the service guys, and I'll look at ways to improve the website. Regards Matt Last edited by mdrussell; 01-21-2002 at 01:36 PM.

Thank you for replying. Is there any reason why you do not even include an address? Why does your web site not say this? If i was a host and I offered 24/7 support I would shout it from the roof. Do you offer 100% uptime guarantee? I ask as your web site says "The combination of fast, reliable servers, and a superb network mean that your website will be available, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week." Matt, there are too many unanswered questions. You are either naive or you are evasive. Either way, its too risky. Sarah.

Sarah, I was just trying to help you. Please don't get me wrong. You decided to join this community, then you deserve to get help from this community. Trust me Sarah, I do not work with/for them. I wish you good luck in finding a host for your business.

I am planning some changes to the site, I will add that we offer 24x7 tech support. Regarding the address, I'll speak to the other members of the team but if this makes potential clients feel more secure, then we can add that too... We don't offer a 100% uptime guarantee because, inevitably, servers will have to be rebooted from time to time... I welcome constructive criticism, as it allows us to see what we're doing wrong, so we can amend these problems. Thank you for your comments, Regards Matt

Enough about voxtreme. No more hi-jacking of the thread To my original question, is there any other hosts who offer unlimited domains, own nameservers, 24/7 support and preferably using affordablecolo, which is could check out? Sarah.
