I Need Help with SMTP

Posted by danielke, 07-12-2009, 03:43 AM
Does anyone know of a free SMTP server I can use to send 10,000 emails daily? I have charter internet and am planning to use they're smtp server for sending but not sure if they have a limit. It would be better if I could use a third party smtp server. Also, does anyone know how to send mass emails from your own hosting account/server?

I'd recommend in picking up an account with a paid service which specializes in mass email delivery. Based on what it sounds like you're trying to do, you're going to get your blacklisted fast....

If you are not planning to send unsolicited bulk email (use double-opt-in to be sure you do not!) you may just setup a mail server on your own server and use this. But since you're asking this question I assume you do not yet have the background it takes to run a mailserver, especially for sending bulk mail. As such, you should either do as AquariusAdmin says or hire a proficient mail server admin to work on your existing server.

You're not going to find someone that'll let you blindly relay that amount of mail through them for free. SImply put, a system like that would be abused by spammers and shut down within days of it's opening. If your mail is legit, and you've covered all your bases with feedback loops from the big providers, then you should have no problem doing this yourself. And has been mentioned, assuming everything is on the level and you're concerned about doing this yourself, seek an experienced admin to give you a hand.

Rent a VPS with cPanel and limit mails to let us say 1000/hour from one domain. Set up your script to send 800-1000 mails per hour and this will give us about 20000 mails daily.

But note that this will not fix the issue of getting blacklisted if you're sending unsolicited bulk email. And that's good as it is.

sending bulk or spam mails very very stupid and bad at any server/panel/provider, so I assume topic-starter will not be doing it )
