Posted by obvtech, 11-17-2003, 01:20 AM Holy geez, 3 days dealing with the FeaturePrice webhosts trying to get a domain name renewed. Their help desk works with hockey helmets on I'm particular. I'm just grateful that I moved my hosting over to Addaction a while back. FP can only screw up my domain name this way. But to the real question. How do I go about getting the domain name transferred to a different registrar? I got the name when I was with them a while back, but have since quit their webplan.
Posted by addaction, 11-17-2003, 01:26 AM Hi, First go to this website and enter your domain: http://www.ratite.com/whois/whois.cgi? See who the domain is registered to and who the administrative contact e-mail is. If this is you (and an e-mail you still have), you can go to any registrar or host and have your domain transferred. They will then put in the transfer request and you have to confirm the e-mails you will receive about it. If you are not listed in the WHOIS as owner or a different e-mail, then you have to contact the company that registered your domain to have it changed first. Anton
