Restoring a backup!

From my old server I got a backup-11.17.2003_18-46-12_site.tar.gz file How do I restore this to my new host?

How was the backup made? If your not sure then just extract the archive and see what you've got.

You would have to upload it to your /backup folder and then simply go to the Configure Backup selection in WHM and choose the option to Restore and everything should be fine...Good Luck! Let me know if you have further questions

Altneratively, if you don't have access to the backup folder and you used the backup home files instead of the backup all files option in cpanel, then go to CPanel, backup/restore, and restore the home file. Now... if you don't have access to the backup folder (ie: you're a reseller) and you didn't use the home backup, then contact your host about it and ask them to proceed with the lovely instructions Daryl was so kind to provide.
