Reseller hosting

Posted by NemoXP, 07-10-2008, 02:09 PM
Hello I am trying to find a reseller hosting with bigger uptime than crayonhost and less problems i have made a list with possible webhosting sites: pluginspace.com scalahosting.com hostgator.com hostnine.com flyhigh.net westnic.net (i don not know what support they offer; today I've started live support, asked a question, got an answer, asked another question and that was it... no response for 30 min :| ) design-web.ro innohosting.com geekstorage.com scarabweb.com pc-core.net some of my requirements: -the price to be at 15-20 $ / mo -min 10-15 gb space -min 100-200 gb traffic -high speed in romania -uptime (if can 100% ) -whm/cpanel (with fantasico and RVSkins) -if possible: * ffmpeg * domain reseller * whmcs * overselling * possibility to sell reseller accounts (just hosting, no domains) -automated backups -2 ip's for private name servers (very important that all sites hosted by me on that reseller account reply at ping at the same ip as the main site, and that ip to be one of the namservers) -Domains hosted unlimited -MySql Databases unlimited -Email accounts unlimited -FTP features unlimited -Subdomains unlimited -Parked domains unlimited -FrontPage Extension -at least 30 Day Money Back Guarantee -PHP 5 -mysql 5 if you can help me making a choice, please reply thanks

Pretty comprehensive list you got there.. What have you done so far in the process? Maybe worth sending some pre-sales to each of the hosts slowly narrowing it down, and eventually going with the one which you like the most and meets your requirements the most?

i have made some research, asked one, other, contacted some sales support (live support) and now i have asked here (one of the hosters listed above reminded me about this site; thanks to him) i just want to know the opinion of the "public"

Glad to see someone really taking care with what provider they choose, you have a good list there and I think if you have a look for reviews and contact the hosts you'll have a really good basis for choosing. Do let us know how you get on as a host can be great for one person and bad for another. Best of luck with your search.

Good job on being proactive with your research. I personally can't really comment on the host you listed, but i've seen many reviews which can be found by using the search function. You can also take a look at hostjury.com for reviews on the hosts you listed above.

Ah, well it's great that you have taken the time to research and compile a list. You're requirements seem fine, except for the 100% uptime (as you can guess anything can happen within a hosting environment). However do not just limit yourself to what people are going to post to your thread, if you have not already start doing searches on WHT for these providers, try doing keyword searches on Google as well for some reviews. And check out Hostjury.com if you need some reviews, some (if not all) of those hosts should have some reviews from previous/current clients. Good luck!

Personally I use Crucial Paradigm, I am not a host expert so I am not 100% sure they have every feature you need but I am sure they are close. Check them out at www.crucialp.com their tech support is amazing I always have everything dealt with in hours tops. They even manually transfered over all 131 of my old accounts over. You should definetly check them out.

Yes crucialP has got good reviews over here.

WEll I am with ScarabWeb and am very happy. I wrote my 6 month review a bit back and since then no problem. If anything new since I wrote it I know their tech support still works and it seems new IPs & (thawe) SSL certs though them are cheap! That and overselling is enabled now by default if it isn't you can ask them to. No significant downtime since my 6 monthw as written, you can do private namservers, and those unlimited features are unlimited. Domain reselling accounts are free with VPS you would ahve to inquire about them with a reseller account. I don't know about them "master" resellers where you resell reseller accounts. If what I read is correct that is a WHM mod and it adversely affects stability but I dunno never used em before. Last edited by Ariolander; 07-11-2008 at 02:21 PM.

I would look for an European host if you are concerned about high speeds. This would always give you a head start. If you look for a US host, i would advise to look into a host with servers on the east-coast. A 100% uptime guarantee you may not find; but i am sure you can find enough who come close to it.

I can't speak for most of the hosts you have on there but I would highly recommend Innohosting from personal experience.

UK based would probably be a good choice. There are good providers to be found there, and English based support should be OK, as opposed to some other, more "exotic" language. The costs though, especially for a company fully based in UK, are very likely to be sensibly higher than those of US counterparts.

from what i saw, uk hosts are more expensive than us hosts and let`s say that would not be very well for me

Everyone got his needs and budget, nothing wrong about that, but it means that you sometimes need to adjust your expectations. My other advise was to check out a US east-coast located host, this is the next best route. Hope this helps.
