Security and redirection

Hello, I am new to the hosting world and have to provide a feedback on this subject We need to host a secure website on a platform (A) To reach this website, people need to connect to a URL called xxx.com/aaa, however, xxx.com is hosted on another platform (B) which will redirect the trafic to platform A My question is where should there be a SSL certificate, on platform A or on platform B, and if on B, can it be different than the one installed for xxx.com? Thanks in advance,

Hi, SSL should be installed on the server where the web files are hosted from in your case it is Platform A. There are couple of things I would like to point out to you: xxx.com/aaa will search for folder inside the main directory. You can only have SSL installed on main domain or a subdomain, but not to a folder like the one you want xxx.com/aaa. It would be better if you create a subdomain and like aaa.xxx.com on Platform B and create main domain aaa.xxx.com on Platform A and point the A record of subdomain to platform A, so all the request will go to platform A and have SSL installed on platform A, so you can browse it like https://aaa.xxx.com.
